Re: Sydney Harbour Bridge goes Micro

(...) -snip- (...) Glad to hear it! One can't be too careful, after all. (...) Indeed! After putting this together on Sunday, I took my family on an outing yesterday, and we walked across the real Harbour bridge. Despite the recent rain, tan plates (...)   Re: Orbital Boost Frame and I'm back!

(...) Wow, I just checked the sidebar, and we've got spider walkers from Brayton and Allister, Jason's Gundam, and now your Orbital Boost Frame. That's a sidebar with plenty of coolness. I think the head, chest and waist are the real highlights, (...) (20 years ago, 5-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Power Armor Mercenary Team

(...) I don't know where that line's from! It sounds so familiar, but I just can't place it. (20 years ago, 5-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: new mecha: RGM-79 GS CUSTOM

(...) thanks, bro. the legs were the first component i worked on. in fact, the whole creation was built around the legs. it took awhile to come up with the right shape. my first attempt was a couple of years ago and its failure led to my "rotgeist".   Re: new mecha: RGM-79 GS CUSTOM

(...) wow! to be compared to the "great one" is a tremendous compliment (i know, it only REMINDS you of gla's style, but let me bask in the moment)! as for cleanliness, this is the first successful "studless" creation i've done. as for building (...)   Re: Z797

(...) Thanks Eric. On small stuff like this I prefer to put in as much detail as possible. Anywhere something can be attached I try and fill it. I'm not as happy with the colors. I think they're a little too sporadic, this due to the fact that I'm (...) (20 years ago, 5-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: new mecha: RGM-79 GS CUSTOM

This thing is beautiful. Your style reminds me of Gla-gla. Very clean, studless, and semi-greebly. Hurry up and build something else. -Brayton (20 years ago, 5-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Building viaducts with curves and bank angle.

(...) Jordan, You might want to check out Adrian Egli's bridge studies at (URL) they are much larger than the scale you're looking at, you may get some ideas. There are several nice bridge examples there, including a couple of curved ones: (URL) (20 years ago, 5-Oct-04, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.build.arch)

Re: new mecha: RGM-79 GS CUSTOM

dooooode, that is fantastic! Wow, the head is very very nice. The chest uses those wedge plates to advantage. The parts on the ankles are very cool. In fact the look and feel of the entire leg structure is very pleasing. The feet are well done. (...) (20 years ago, 4-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Orbital Boost Frame and I'm back!

(...) Funny, because when I looked at the pics, I thought the hands were done rather cleverly. I'd never think to do that and I thought it simulated fists nicely. Overall shape of the mech is outstanding too. I like the balls on the back too. You (...) (20 years ago, 4-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: 2-6-4-T Steamlocomotive

Looks good, the macaroni brick seems to be a popular choice for boilers at moment! Is that a hairbrush I see? My main problem is that the overall loco proportions don't quite look right, perhaps if it was rebuilt using the same details and (...) What kind of defensive capabilites does it have to protect the family jewels? And how tall is that mech fully erect? F (20 years ago, 4-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

They look pretty enough Commander. However, the question still stands. Can they get the job done? PS. God I love using that line. F (20 years ago, 4-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Building viaducts with curves and bank angle.

I've been experimenting with building elevated highways, and have several questions pertaining to such. I wanted to build on a scale of about 3 meters/stud, but I don't think that's an adequate resolution if I want to put in realistic curves, anyone (...)   How do you do this? Doors and roofs?

1: DOORS Working with the 6105 doors, (URL) , I do not want to have the bricks 90 degrees on as normally, but in a line - so the door is fixed in the middle of the stud, not close to the wall. This requires some very odd offset from the wall (wall - (...) (20 years ago, 4-Oct-04, to lugnet.build)
