  Re: Elvis mosaic in sepia

Although I dont like Evlis much, I think its a good mosaic. However, I cant stand sites that use flash. (20 years ago, 27-Aug-04, to lugnet.build.mosaic, lugnet.build)

  Re: Tanks or Power Armor

I'm surprised no one so far has answered the "tanks or power armor" question by saying, "missiles!" As information, positioning, sensor, and guidance technology continues to improve, it gets easier and easier to hit a ground-based target from long (...)   B.I.JOE Moc : Cobra C.L.A.W.

Trailing in the jet exhaust of Gil's Skyhawk comes the Cobra C.L.A.W. (URL) I too threw it under the .space tag cause it does have a bit of a spacey feel to it. Enjoy B.I.Jamie (20 years ago, 27-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Re: Tanks or Power Armor

(...) That's more or less what I was saying. Any creation, no matter how implausible or unrealistic, must have a certain internal consistency as it were. There will be rules that apply to that creation to make it 'real' enough, whatever that may (...) (20 years ago, 27-Aug-04, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Tanks or Power Armor

(...) Fair enough, but we do all make certain levels of "realism" necessary in our creations, be they space suits for all little spacemen, enclosed cockpits, engines, or even making sure there are wings on our Galaxy Enforcers. :D (...)   Re: Tanks or Power Armor

(...) That's the idea behind gauss weapons--railguns and the like. Ostensibly they also make ammunition lighter because they do away with the propellant charge, and that loss of weight is made up for in the higher velocity of the projectile. (...)   Re: Tanks or Power Armor

(...) Of course you are correct. Plausible or not though, they are much more fun to build out of lego. I've never felt the need for realism to dictate any limitations on my models, but that's just the .SPACE in me :) (...) If realism, or even (...)   Re: Tanks or Power Armor

(...) I suspect that if we develop a technology that can manipulate gravity enough to hold a tank off the ground (I really don't think the fan and skirt design would be practical in battle), then surely it would also be able to absorb or counteract (...)   Re: Adam Silcott's ALM-011

(...) You're too kind Kyle, thank you! On MOCpages.com you mentioned ALM-014. That one was done enough to take to Brickfest, but still needed some work. I'm currently finishing the gun, and making some modifications based on some of the great (...) (20 years ago, 26-Aug-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) Thanks David! I just bought some photography equipment, so I should be able to take some more detailed pictures of it, and some other MOCs, soon. -Adam (20 years ago, 26-Aug-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Tanks or Power Armor

(...) I guess I could see that. I'm not sure a true humanoid shape would be the optimal way to go, given how tall it'd have to be to accomodate a human pilot, but a walker of some sort could have the advantage of being able to claw its way around, (...)   Elvis mosaic in sepia

Just finished this mosaic of Elvis. Have tried to get a sepia effect using tan and transparent plates as well as the conventional greyscale mosaic plates. To view the image click here (URL) H. Boleg (20 years ago, 26-Aug-04, to lugnet.build.mosaic, lugnet.build)

Re: The Brick Testament:The Massacre of Jericho

(...) Huzzah! (...) I'm glad that worked out. I'd tried all sorts of combinations of map tiles--those newer ones from the Advernurers Orient Expidition made the most convincing war map, what with the palace, the dotted lines, and the X. (...)   Re: Tanks or Power Armor

(...) When I think of what happens when a hover tank fires, i remember a little scene from star wars a phantom menace, the entire tank kinda glides back from kickback and the barrel has telesoping action to help in the kick back (20 years ago, 26-Aug-04, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Tanks or Power Armor

  More on Micro-scale defintions

To see such discussion on the attributes and definitions of micro-scale is quite exciting. I decided to open up my PowerPoint on the topic and see how I originally defined it.
