(...) I've found the best method of stiffening ball joints is to insert a small piece of paper between the ball and the socket. Fit it snugly in the socket, then snap the ball in otherwise it tears. For extra stiffness use a double or even triple (...) (20 years ago, 24-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
