Re: How do you guys do it?

(...) As others have said, Welcome! Lots of great ideas in this thread, as a 'old-timer' I thought I could toss out a couple more. Don't feel you need to build HUGE things. Yes, some of us love to build massive things like 8-wide trains and 4+ foot (...) (...) This is the way I got started. However, keep in mind, I make a fairly good living. I realize not everyone does or is to young to work at all, or may be out of work. What I am trying to say, is you do not have to be rich to enjoy this hobby. 1) (...) (21 years ago, 30-Dec-03, to lugnet.build)

(...) Mike, Here's what went on in my initial sort. Keeping in mind I decided to sort before I committed any money to a storage system, here's what I did: -- The Process -- I dumped one of my 14-gallon buckets full of brick onto a free table (freed (...) Totally cool! The 1x1 rounds work beautifully as scales. The pectoral fins are great too! Any future plans to do the sides as well? I'd love to see some close-ups of the tail too. (...) Me thinks thou doth confuseth two issves. ;) (...) Yes, watch out for spending too much money on 'storage' containers at first. But spend whatever time and thought are necessary to adopt a system of sorting that matches your buying and (...) (21 years ago, 30-Dec-03, to lugnet.build, lugnet.storage)

(...) Todd Nice Job! It looks really great. I like the luminacity the clear bricks give it. It almost looks wet! You might think about giving it a name! I'm gonng suggest you name it "Mack"! (...) When I do sculpture kinds of things, I find LEGO graph paper extremely useful. Search Google to get some. Also build stuff in LDraw format when you don't have the pieces you need. (21 years ago, 30-Dec-03, to lugnet.build)

Re: How do you guys do it?

(...) All Lar has posted here are excellent to go by. I would like to add one more- draw it! When I was in grade school, I didn't have the bricks in front of me to work with but I did have a pencil(or pen) and paper. All too often ideas for new (...) (21 years ago, 30-Dec-03, to lugnet.build)
