Interesting! Up until now, I had categorically dismissed all non-discrete forms of linear motion. Cam mechs are a wonderful idea! I gave them a try though, and sadly, didn't work out as I had hoped. Luke, I'm stummped too! Although I'm just not sure at what your trying to accomplish. Maybe these two pix can help. I use a Cam Mechanism to achive linear motion. (...) dropped the hip joint to make more room for the pilot's cabin. I like that landspeeder too -- I think this model intrigues me because it seems so simple but is hard to pull off well. i to have had a similar problem involving a scaled-down version of some of the big mech joints, and your problem has reminded me of a version i scrapped a few months ago. try getting some of the flex tubing that can be found in the anikins podracer (...)
