Re: Silver Fall (Re: Castle work by Takeshi Itou)

(...) I agree...the landscaping is absolutely gorgeous, and isn't an eyesore... talk about a master-piece!!! WOW!! I think a neat aspect of it, has to be the battery operated "boat" ... which comes out of the "falls" on the track... It must be (...)   Re: MOC Statue of Liberty Pedestal

(...) Nice job with the base... It looks very detailed but not over-powering. Very good idea with the electric wiring. It must be very cool to see this in the dark!!! Ben (22 years ago, 9-Jul-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

Silver Fall (Re: Castle work by Takeshi Itou)

¡!¡Un-be-lie-va-ble¡!¡ jus’ spectacular… ~Silver Falls is exquisite. Takeshi Itou's the Grand Master of integrated landscaping. His buildings merge into the rock formation with such fluidity.   MOC Statue of Liberty Pedestal

I decided it was time to add a pedestal to the Statue of Liberty set #3450. My results can be found here: (URL) also revised the torch by building it with clear bricks and then wiring it to light up. The wires run up the middle of the statue and (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jul-02, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch) !!

  Re: BI Portal site re-launches!

(...) The downside to denormalizing is you have to remember to update your data in several places whenever you update it. Depending on how complex you want to make your code it can be worth it to denormalize in some places to allow quicker searches. (...)   Re: BI Portal site re-launches!

(...) Normalising makes things more space efficient (by reducing storage of redundant information), denormalising makes things more efficient at runtime (by reducing joins). Storing the tree total against each category is an example of keeping (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jul-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: New Cars added to WWII Train ...

(...) Forgive me if two of these messages come through. I sent one the other day, and it still hasn't shown up. So, I'll assume that I hit the wrong button or something. Shaun, I saw your train at the April Greenberg show, and I was very impressed! (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jul-02, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: BI Portal site re-launches!

(...) Can you explain this a little more? I intrigued by the concept, and completely confused. My (limited) knowledge of databases tells me that normalizing the DB is a way to add efficiency. What I am missing in your suggestion? (...) Well, the (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jul-02, to lugnet.build)

  Re: 1592 Belville variation

Arielle Détraz wrote: [ (URL) ] (...) Welcome onboard. (...) It looks great. I am not much into Belville myself (although the transparent spires are good as space ship cockpits ;-), but I really enjoyed your creation. (...) It's a great way to put (...)   Re: HMLS Snottler Page

(...) The thing I really liked that isn't captured so well by the WWW page is the highly modular nature of the Snottler 3.0. Seeing it broken into chunks is quite interesting. Kerry (22 years ago, 9-Jul-02, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: 1592 Belville variation

(...) Belville figures and their posing draws the viewer's eye around the scene. Some of the larger (and clunkier) Belville elements have been incorporated neatly into the structures. Keep building and post the results, the Belville newsgroup is too (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jul-02, to lugnet.belville, lugnet.build)

Re: New Cars added to WWII Train ...

(...) Shaun, I saw you train at the last Greenberg show and I was very impressed. I brought my SD40-2 for show-and-tell, and the guys noticed that I wasn't using the magnetic couplers. I mentioned that I was having coupling issues, and they said (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jul-02, to lugnet.build.military)

  HMLS Snottler Page

I've finally put page up for the HMLS Snottler, with a bit of history and construction detail. (URL) Dulin (22 years ago, 9-Jul-02, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.build.military)

  I have moved my website

Hey all, I have moved my web site. It is now here: (URL) it out, and please update your links. I finally settled down with a web hosting provider who allows JSP and servlets -- WOO HOO! :-D Cheers, - jsproat (22 years ago, 8-Jul-02, to lugnet.publish, lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.general)

Very cool! I'm not a Belville fan myself, but this proves a little imagination is enough to make fantastic creations - my regards to Arielle! (Now Scala is the only one missing, IIRC) Pedro (...) (22 years ago, 8-Jul-02, to lugnet.belville, lugnet.build)

  P-wing

(URL) actually built this one right after I bought my second Jango Slave 1 (I love you Target) in the end of May. Q-wing is done right now, I'm working on the U-wing and my sketches of the T-wing have solidified. You should probably expect 2 and (...)   Re: Orc, OY!
