  Re: pneumatics & mindstorms?

(...) Nice thread - I'll have to pick up a Technic Sub to get a compressor tank (or is there one available cheaper elsewhere?) Anyway... Has anyone here seen the high-quality photo of the soda-can grabber 'bot that Lego has at its Mindstorms site? (...) (26 years ago, 15-Oct-98, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.build)

  Re: More raytraces!

(...) Short answer: I don't know. Longer answer: start moving files out of the IM directory tree, and see what happens when you run convert.exe. Have fun :) Steve ======== Posted via the LUGNET discussion group web interface ======== (URL) Search, (...) (26 years ago, 14-Oct-98, to lugnet.build)

  Re: More raytraces!

Is the entire IM directory needed, or JUST the convert.exe? I'd like to delete all the rest if all I need is convert.exe, but I don't have the time to remove a file at a time until something breaks. Right now, it works, but that's an awful lot of (...) (26 years ago, 14-Oct-98, to lugnet.build)

  Re: More raytraces!

(...) Hrmmm, I can still generate this error simply by giving it the path d:\IM412\ for convert.exe (...) Yeah, I fixed it when I stopped trying to specify a directory (incorrectly even) for the Step images. Dunno, but it works now, so I don't care. (...) (26 years ago, 14-Oct-98, to lugnet.build)

  Re: More raytraces!

(...) As long as you've got the convert.exe program somewhere, you should have ImageMagick as setup as LDAO needs it. (...) I really wish I could duplicate this! I've had plenty of reports of it, but I just can't make it happen on my system. Anyway, (...) (26 years ago, 14-Oct-98, to lugnet.build)

  Technic Excavator (MOC Photos)

Hi All, I've just got pictures of my Technic Excavator (MOC) up on the web. Have a peek at (URL) use the nav bar on the left to get to the LEGO stuff. You can also read the HC16 development notes if you're into that kind of thing. Let me know what (...) (26 years ago, 14-Oct-98, to lugnet.build)

  Re: More raytraces!

(...) Yeah, I have yet to figure out what the heck I'm supposed to do with ImageMagic. I ftp'ed it down and unzipped it. Couldn't find an "install program" of any kind (setup.* install.*, nothing), mainly just a lot of other .exe files and some (...) (26 years ago, 14-Oct-98, to lugnet.build)

  Re: pneumatics & mindstorms?

Oh, and worst of all, the air switches are so tight that you need a strong Technic motor to switch them. We really need a compact electromagnetic air switch or at least a friction-free manual switch. Eric Brok (26 years ago, 13-Oct-98, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.build)

  Re: pneumatics & mindstorms?

(...) A single pneumatic cylinder will break a 16-beam in half fairly readily. My (big) truck crane boom weighed about 4lbs, mith a center of mass about 18" from the bottom, and 3 cylinders could lift that when perched about 5" from the pivot. So, (...)
