Re: 2nd Annual Space Building Contest?

CAD questions: 1) Is posting the DAT/MPD files for the model(s) along with the renderings sufficent (I'm using Brickshelf), or do they need to be e-mailed to The Scrutinizer separately? 2) My pilot is an 'unofficial' model. I took the sitting (...) (23 years ago, 1-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Throwing Down the Gauntlet (was Re: 2nd Annual Space Building Contest?)

Hey Y'all: Submitted for your disapproval in Category VIII - "Ugliest, Wackiest Thing in Space" (defending my status as the current holder of the honor from the first annual contest, natch), I give you Blacktron "Orca" Class Space Freighters!   Ground Zero Memorial

Hi folks. I guess it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to say that ever since I saw the photo it has haunted me. Here is my attempt at dealing with it. (URL) apologies that it's so big (>400 kB). My technical ability at taking and editing digital (...) (23 years ago, 1-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.minifigs) !!

Re: MS-06 Zaku Production at the Foundry

(...) Awwwww. I guess I can wait if I have to. :-/ (...) Yea. Walls of bricks use a friggin ton of parts. Us space/mecha heads use so many angles and greebles, we dont allways realilize how many parts something like a wall may take. That's why my (...) (23 years ago, 1-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: MS-06 Zaku Production at the Foundry

(...) Website? Huh? Are you saying you are waiting to publish a website until you finish the foundry? I love this model - very complete :) Everything looks so official and clean. I can't wait to see more - what are we to expect next? -- Pawel (23 years ago, 1-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) along with new models will be available for viewing when my site goes live. As of right i think the images will be 640x480.   Re: LEGO Sculpture: Santa Claus

Pawel, As with many of my models, I downloaded a number of pics of the net and then kind of formed an amalgamation of them in my head. eric (...) (23 years ago, 1-Dec-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Hey Old guys

(...) Hey welcome! This is a great place to be. I got inspired to build mech after coming here too! As far as digi cams go, I have a Canon A20 and I love it. It's a pretty straight forward camera and easy to use. Oh yeah and the image quality is (...) (23 years ago, 1-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Get my DAT files for a Death Star project

(...) The basic idea is very simple. I have made the smallest posible X-wing, millenium falcon and other Star Wars ships. The ships are still for minifigs but do not respect the canonical proportions. The X-wing can contain Luke and R2D2 but is only (...)   Re: LEGO Sculpture: Santa Claus

Kenneth, I have not ever tried to auction any of my work on eBay, but I do sell them when commissioned. One of these Santa Claus' would go for about $450 + shipping. That would be for a glued model. Unglued would be about $75 less, but I could not (...) (23 years ago, 30-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: LEGO Sculpture: Santa Claus

(...) Eric, nice job as always. I really liked how you created the "roundness" and "jolliness" of the sculpture. It's really caught well in your version... gives it a good sense of emotion... well, as much as a bunch of bricks can have. :) - Steve (23 years ago, 30-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: LEGO Sculpture: Santa Claus

Well, I started at the feet... and wanted to get the feet perfectly symmetrical, so they are aligned along the main stud rows and columns. From there the rest of the body just followed. (...) (23 years ago, 30-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)
