Re: 5151 Steep Sloped Bricks (45 deg)

This (and a "rarest piece" thread in lugnet.general) reminds me of a rare sloped brick piece that I'm sure some of you who have any 1960's LEGO will recognize, and that is a 2x2 regular sloped apex (peak) brick that instead of an "I" ridge line has (...) (25 years ago, 18-May-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Steerable town rig

(...) Wow, thanks! I wanted to submit this model for the LEGO Model Design Competition, but it has sadly not been put up yet. I fear that I may have been the only one contributing anyway, so I can understand that the maintainer became disheartened. (...) (25 years ago, 18-May-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.cad)

  RE: Steerable town rig

(...) (URL) once again you are showing the way with small town vehicles. The rendering is an excellent design. My better half is an architectural illustrator and laments the move to CAD based illustration. Your combination of photo-realism and (...) (25 years ago, 18-May-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.cad)

  RE: Curved walls

This is one of my favorite sites for LegoSurfing. Of course this curved wall link begs the question: What is the best way to acquire the 1x1 rounds (especially white ones)? I can see R2-D2's body materializing in Legos in front of me, but I ran out (...) (25 years ago, 18-May-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: Do you separate old vs. new LEGO?

I don't, simply because most of my collection falls under the "new" category, if I think I know what Gary is talking about. ;) The only separation I do though is putting the Town Junior parts (I.E. Car bodies, those horrible arch things, etc.) into (...) (25 years ago, 18-May-99, to lugnet.build)

  Steerable town rig

I've made a very small rig to the scale of the minifigs. It has articulated central steering, which is operated by turning the yellow light on the top. There are very cursory instructions provided, which means that you need to work a bit if you want (...) (25 years ago, 18-May-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.cad)

Re: How to produce building instructions for your own creations

(...) I'm not suprised my idea was not original at all. It's so common to discover some other people got the same idea before you. I considered it a "joke" as I suppose the resulting movie looks a bit strange and unreal, but at a second thought I (...) (25 years ago, 18-May-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: 5151 Steep Sloped Bricks (45 deg)

Thanks for the tips! I have it all figured out now. Something so simple as LEGO bricks can bring such complicated solutions. Well, it's simple really. Sometimes the simple things are the hardest to see. I suppose that is why we build! Build On! (and (...) (25 years ago, 18-May-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: How to produce building instructions for your own creations

(...) Mario meant that as a joke?!? No way -- that technique is a serious technique. It has been suggested before in very serious contexts, going back to the ATL days. I think David Karr was the first one to discover it. He used it to document the (...) (25 years ago, 18-May-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.build)

Hey all, While looking for more building inspiration, I came across this Web site: (URL) the wide range of material, almost-exhaustive links, and detailed close-ups can't get your noggin designing new Lego models, you should check your pulse. :-, (...) (25 years ago, 17-May-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) Mario, Great idea! But wrong newsgroup. This belongs in lugnet.build. (Crossposting there now, with followups set there...) lugnet.off-topic.* is for off-topic (non-LEGO) discussions, and your post is quite on-topic to LEGO. --Todd (25 years ago, 17-May-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.build)

Re: LEGO Sears Tower @ Chicago O'Hare Airport
