(...) True, that is a limitation. And somehow I have the feeling that my plans will automatically grow to encompass whatever number of sensors and motors I own. (26 years ago, 7-Oct-98, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.build)

I have tried that plan but in order to get any strength built-in to my robot I have to get the motors and sensors embedded into the robot or everything just falls off at the first touch. If touch sensors were affordable enough to get some extra, (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-98, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.build)

Not anything profound here, but just a musing: Next time I build a robot, I'm going to make it so the RCX and sensors are easily removed, so I can leave the basic design together and yet move the brain to another creation. (26 years ago, 7-Oct-98, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.build)

Thanks for the info. I am here in Canada. I am somewhat ignorant of frequency limits by CRTC (Canadian equivalent of the FCC). The unit can be tuned to braodcast in short range to the lower FM frequencies near 80-90 Mhz. Tom McDonald wrote in (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-98, to lugnet.build)

Be careful of the power output. Assuming you're here in the US, and depending upon the band, the FCC will only let you put out up to 100mW on domestic frequencies. Citizens' band is 4W. Just about everything else requires a license. I'm assuming (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-98, to lugnet.build)

I plan to build a bot that will be able to snoop around into a room (hopefully with people talking about secret things!!!! :-) ), and have it transmit the conversation via a micro FM transmitter. The one prolem is that the bot itself will be quite (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-98, to lugnet.build)
