  Re: SW-something switcher

(...) Hey Lar, maybe I'll have Rickey and his exact-o knife have a looksie at the problem;-) <inside GMLTC joke> -John (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

  Re: SW-something switcher

(...) Rick Clark did a black and green Burlington Northern switcher (6-wide) tapering this way, and it looks great. Unfortunately, he doesn't have pics of it on his site. This is the best picture I could find on the PNLTC site: (URL) loco in (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

Re: Sighthound Recon: MOC for non-violent space contest

Wow! That's a neat design with lot's of cool details! The main hatch is very well conceived. I really dig the big AWACs style dish on top :) Excellent web page work with presenting the model too! Great job, Todd! Dan (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

  Re: SW-something switcher

(...) I suspect he used the dual taper piece (4x4x1 high) in the yellow and red/black show trucks... that is a perfect piece for this application, but the problem with it is that it tapers from 4 to 2... Talk about your strong argument for making (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

  Re: SW-something switcher

(...) Yeah, that angle in is a bummer. Frankly, my solution has been to avoid it, because nothing is going to look just right given the limitations of the elements-- for *8wide*, that is. Rob Werner in the GFLTC has built a really nice switcher (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

Re: Sighthound Recon: MOC for non-violent space contest

(...) And the winner is... But really, this is a cool little ship - very compact yet detailed. Great SNOT construction in the rear section, and that nifty hatch, and the sliding computer door, and the lift-off top... And the presentation! Oh my (...)   Re: Sighthound Recon: MOC for non-violent space contest

(...) Todd, Incredible job! I especially liked the anime image you did and I really wish you had more time to give us a story in that format. The pics were great and I loved the graphic design of your web site. Lately I've been feeling a Dark Ages (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Re: Sighthound Recon: MOC for non-violent space contest

(...) Thanks, I was really happy with the way the hatch turned out. I didn't want there to be any visible hinges when it was closed. It worked out perfectly. Todd (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Re: Sighthound Recon: MOC for non-violent space contest

(...) Nice hatch design. I can see that one popping up in other models real quick. -Duane (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

  Re: SW-something switcher

(...) Not from me... Seems like a tough problem as long as the slope on the hood remains above the hinge bricks, thus producing an "over-bite", as such. From the photos, I don't see much of a "gap", but perhaps a better angle would show it? Or, is (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

Re: Sighthound Recon: MOC for non-violent space contest

(...) That is frigging awesome! Everything from the site design to the ship design is perfect. I love it!! You should really do that little anime comic strip. Thanks Jay Jacinto (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Sighthound Recon: MOC for non-violent space contest

Well, I finally finished my entry for Paul Hartzog's non-violent space contest. The Sighthound Recon spacecraft. You can check it out here: (URL) me know what you think. Thanks, Todd Trotter (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space) !!

  "Full-sized" Star Wars LEGO models

Have you guys seen this? "...each [winner] received a family trip to LEGO's Denmark headquarters as well as a full-sized Star Wars LEGO model of their choice, autographed by George Lucas.   Re: SW-something switcher

(...) Looks good as it is, your addition of handrails on the rear of the cab is the first I've seen among SW-type builders. I believe that 8 wide is the best way to portray American railroad equipment.-Harvey (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

  Minifig scale Pyramid

Having just returned from vacation in Egypt, combined with the availability of bulk tan bricks, I thinking about building a minifig scale model of the Giza plateau. Then I figured it would take nearly 9 million 4x2 bricks to build a solid model of (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.build.arch)

  SW-something switcher

Here is the most complete version of my SW series switcher... It started out as a SW1200 but I think I deviated from that design a bit. (URL) isn't the finished product yet but I am running into a problem. Just before the cab there is part of the (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

  Re: Chris Snead

(...) Your stuff is incredible! I built a pneumatic hand once, but jeeze, a whole torso? All you have to do now is work out a gyroscopic stabilization system and some legs, and you can give Honda's P2 a run for it's money ! ;-) (...) Oh, Cepheus (...) (...) Thanks for the kind words. I have this folder of your mech renderings - I've been admiring this stuff for a while. Everytime I get stuck when trying to make a head, I check out your site for ideas. Hope you don't mind... (...) A website is on (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Wow, this has gotta be the most posable Mech I ever saw (or heard about) your on for dinner! I like BBQ! Seeing IRL will be a great thing! Somthing I intend to happen, after I save a little! C-ya Eric (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Chris Snead

WOW! Why didn't I find out about this before. I've seen those pictures of your mecha, and I was IMPRESSED, but I didn't know that the Cepheus had clicking-joints. Any chance of a small set of pictures explaining how this works... Actually, you (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
