Re: My first mini-mecha (or any mecha for that matter)

Oh I hate that! It's like tripping in public, hoping nobody saw, but knowing that inside everyone is laughing! ;-D (...) (23 years ago, 30-Apr-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My first mini-mecha (or any mecha for that matter)

Whoops...one thing though...lets call them Origami Mecha since that's the proper spelling...thank you Dictionary.com... (...) (23 years ago, 30-Apr-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My first mini-mecha (or any mecha for that matter)

Oragami Mecha! I love it! Bryce, warning, I'm going to use the heck out of the name! Yeah, after seeing Jeremy's designs, I couldn't help myself and did one too. I finally have a shot of it. Sorry about the quality, but this old QuickTake 150 of (...) (23 years ago, 30-Apr-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My first mini-mecha (or any mecha for that matter)

Cool little mechas! After seeing Jeremy Sproat's this weekend I've decided to call them Oragami Mechas. These things are just so small and intricate! I like the green one. I reminds me of an insect or maybe Watto. I can see a swarm of these (...) (23 years ago, 30-Apr-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: MOCs: incl German WWII Railway gun

(...) That would be funny, poor ol' Nazis could never get off a single shot. But yes, the generators supplied the railguns with electrical power.-Harvey (23 years ago, 30-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

Re: MOCs: incl German WWII Railway gun

(...) Grin. (Take a second to picture a gun crew franticly trying to service that behemoth while hanging on for dear life as the train screams downgrade at the edge of controllability so that the dynamic braking can supply some current to the (...)   Re: MOCs: incl German WWII Railway gun

(...) By the way, the V188 had a Do+Do wheel arrangement. The wheels were fixed in the frame rather than mounted in swiveling trucks.-Harvey (23 years ago, 30-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

Re: MOCs: incl German WWII Railway gun

(...) This is what I read from the article, but I think we all know that the generator (or alternator for that matter too) is the true source of power. As for the possibility of using the traction motors? Let us not forget dynamic braking. -Harvey (23 years ago, 30-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

Re: Looking for ww2 fighter models

I've also got a P38 in progress - it's about 60% finished, but has taken a back burner to some of the train stuff I've been working on. Hopefully I'll be able to pull it together in the not-too-distant future. Greg Benn, a non-posting lurker, has (...) (23 years ago, 30-Apr-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: MOCs: incl German WWII Railway gun

(...) <snip AMAZING info on an AMAZING model!!!> (...) This model has stuff for many factions, bring it on! (...) A nitpick... Surely you mean "current from the V188's generator" since traction motors are mounted in the trucks and provide traction (...) (23 years ago, 30-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

My first mini-mecha (or any mecha for that matter)

Heya, I've had this little guy on my desk for a while now but alas, along with good bricks, a camera is missing from my dorm. So i just punched it into MLCad and here we go: (URL) not much but i love it, the whole concept of mini-mecha really gets (...) (23 years ago, 29-Apr-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: I built town! Help me!

I saw these last night! I like the size of the trailers, except the wheels could be placed better, and wider. They also can be monted differnet, i'll ahve to post a suspension idea on my site. (...) Josh (...) (23 years ago, 29-Apr-01, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build)

  Bridge Building Questions

Hi all, I recently saw Brad Hamiltons picture of a huge train brige build with technic beams. It really looks great! (URL) also build a bridge for my latest train moc's, now my question is: What is a clever idea for a ramp to let the trains drive up (...) (23 years ago, 29-Apr-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: MOCs: incl German WWII Railway gun

(...) I've thought of building 'Dora' myself, but this would present some problems. 1.The gun was mounted on a double track (and curved at that!) LEGO does not make more than one radius of curved track, so the model should be displayed on straight (...) (23 years ago, 29-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

  Re: Police Jet-Copter

Thanks for the compliments. This is the only helicopter I've ever built. I'm generally no good at creating vehicles, but I think this one looks decent.   Re: MOCs: incl German WWII Railway gun

(...) Shaun, I have posted a picture of my V188 diesel which was used to haul the 'Dora','Schwerer Gustav', as well as the 'Anzio Annie' railguns. The electric current from the V188's traction motors helped to power the various railway artillery. My (...) (23 years ago, 29-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

  Re: Police Jet-Copter
