Re: Preview pics of my new mecha

Minifig scale is what I had in mind, because that way it will fit into my current line of mecha. Though it could easily be considered a microfig tank. In minifig form it would be a troop support light mecha. Remote operated or just autonomous. (...) (24 years ago, 25-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New Carrier - Starship Gibraltar

(...) Thanks! Actually, the ship only needed 2 arctic base sets (bought on sale of course--wise man say don't pay full price for LEGO). Each set has 6 grey window-walls, so my ship has 12. Also, I needed 2 sets of the mobile arctic base, but used 6 (...) (24 years ago, 25-Mar-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.starwars)

Re: New Carrier - Starship Gibraltar

Hey Dan, That was fast! Here is another pic of Dan setting up his ship: (URL) thing has awsome engineering besides cool looks. Its super light, but it hardly flexes at all when you pick it up! The few interior rooms that are finished are really (...) (24 years ago, 25-Mar-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.starwars)

Re: New Carrier - Starship Gibraltar

(...) Wow, that thing is HUGE. I love the galley, very slick. Lots of neat details! How many arctic sets did you part out for the exterior windowwalls? (24 years ago, 25-Mar-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.starwars)

  New Carrier - Starship Gibraltar

Hello, everyone! I just posted a few pictures of my new space carrier, still under construction. (URL) you can see, the only finished interiors are the bridge, galley, and torpedo room. More pictures will come as I continue to finish this monster. (...) (24 years ago, 25-Mar-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.starwars) !!

  Re: Analogue Control of Pneumatics

Yep, and if you combine those high-speed, high-precision pressure regulators with low stiction cylinders and a fast PID controller you can get even better accuracy and repeatability. When I was working for an encoder company, I scavenged some parts (...) (24 years ago, 25-Mar-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: Preview pics of my new mecha

(...) Oooh. I like. Especialy the 4+ legs! Is it Micro or minifig size? If it's minifig it makes a great ultra-light mech. Good job! Rick (24 years ago, 25-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Looks great Pat! Are you going to make a whole line of them, like Jeremy Sproat does? (...) (24 years ago, 25-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Preview pics of my new mecha

There are six legs that can each rotate out a full 180 degrees. Each lower leg swings along a click hinge. I picture it being some sort of small troop support mecha that is operated by remote. It won't be completely finshed until I can replace the (...) (24 years ago, 25-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Part 6214: how can I use this thing?

(URL) are all in green, and some have apples printed on them. It's supposed to be a Freestyle tree, but you can make much more realistic three-dimensional trees with other parts. Has anyone ever used this piece for anything new? Its one of the few (...) (24 years ago, 24-Mar-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: Combining 2x4 bricks

Very interesting! One of my co-workers is a math geek - the next time I see him I'll ask him about this problem. I think it falls under the category of math known as combinational topology. Brickshelf's thumbnail script produced an interesting (...) (24 years ago, 24-Mar-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

  Combining 2x4 bricks

Hi everybody! I was idly flipping through my copy of The Ultimate LEGO book the other day and I noticed a little bit of trivia on page 8. It says that two 2x4 bricks can be combined in 24 ways, three bricks: 1060 ways, and six bricks: 102,981,500 (...) (24 years ago, 24-Mar-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

  Re: Analogue Control of Pneumatics

Hi I did some 'research' in this area about three years ago for the control of a pneumatic robot arm. It was quite simple positional control ie position the piston at any point in the cylinders stroke and hold it there. The controller was just a PC (...)
