Miles, thanks for posting that long catalog of available reference material
for ROBOLAB.

I too have been through the frustrating experience of finding learning
resources.  ROBOLAB is good software because it is in the spirit of LEGO,
where you can design by playing with the icons in the same way that you can
design a mechanical assembly by playing with a box of parts.  And it is
'hackable', ie, you can learn much by playing.  But the more advanced
features need explaining.  ROBOLAB is badly documented, in my view.

Also, the folks who work extensively with it (possibly with support from
Dacta or National Instruments) are unwilling to grade the reference
material, to say:  "This one is good" or "That one is not worth while".  I
have already asked.  In their position I don't blame them.

We need a text book to put the finishing touches to this fine program.  But
at US$59. for the program National Instruments won't write one, and with the
limited number of users you won't find a publishing house interested in
commissioning one.  ROBOLAB For Dummies?  ...I don't think so!

My CAN$0.02   -Jerry
