Hey y'all, while discussing the idea of playsets/dioramas that transcend scales,
i.e. are appropriate as "different" settings from m-fig, thru b-fig, and
potentially up to galidor/knights kingdom II figs ("g-fig"?, "k-fig"?, what
about "j-fig" for "jumbo figure? that's what I'll use in the future i think),
over in lugnet.belville, I got to wondering if the j-figs are able to pass thru
the 1x8x12 doorframes that are included in set #4757 hogwarts castle (along with
a multitude of belville sets).

if so, it's easy for me to imagine future sets that might just achieve scale
transcenance.

This is an innovative idea--not sure if it had been previously considered--that
I think could really do some grand things for the Company if implemented
correctly. And something so intriguing would undoubtedly (I think) cross age
ranges.

As for the question you posed, I can't help you as I don't own either part. May
I suggest though using the term "j-fig" for the Jack Stone/Junior figures
because they are continuing in other lines (ie. Spiderman and Pirates). "g-fig"
for giant might be more appropriate anyway as they are essentially giants at
that size from a minifig perspective ;-), albeit they are jumbo in terms of size
comparison. Also, I know they are not around much, but we can't forget Technic
figures ("t-fig").

think along the lines of a simple castle portcullis that's tall
enough to be a main entrance to an m-fig guarded city, but also large enough to
be a minor gateway for a j-fig garden or courtyard. in the middle, it can serve
as a simple entranceway for a b-fig palace.

This is a good example.

I've got a few pics of some variations on this theme as detailed below.  If
anybody else has some work that leans in this direction, I'd appreciate it if
you could share it with us.

Yes, please do as I would like to discuss possibilities for this more.

Oh, and to see another take on the same idea, go up a folder and click on "pink
arch variations" and see some good ideas for an otherwise hideous part ;)

LOL. I guess they do kinda work as jungle gym bars in Belville scale. The
corridor battle scene is funny but could definitely work if in a grey/bley tone
(and in that case, there is another possible set of sorts).

Word.  Posted a few more pics to my brickshelf account.

I built this out of the white mountainside BUMPs that are included in 7417 (x2)
& 7412 (x4 or 5), and dark grey bumps from 4709 (x2). I geuss the main
inspiration for it was realising that the brown stockade doors make a really
neat wooden bridge.  I've also been into MOC's lately that straddle scales,
meaning that they can change contexts when shifted from minifig to b-fig with
little alteration, i.e. a belville scale parrish may easily become an m-fig
temple or the like. I haven't built any m-fig stuff for months.  But I've got a
Buttload of b-fig stuff I'm working on.

Damien, I like the concept of places and/or spaces (SPACE!) "changing context
when shifted from m-fig to b-fig with little alteration". This is something that
I may take into consideration for a future project. As for the structure here, I
do think it would make a good entrance for a mountain passage or fort of some
kind. Thanks for sharing.

Andrew, thanks for the encouragement, I'm especially eager to see what you come
up with.

stay gold,

You're welcome. I'll get on it as soon as I finish some other creations I'm
behind in. (D'oh!)
just imagine...

Hey, did lugnet ever have a glossary of terminologies that are commonly used to this site?
