the pics to keep my message shorter as I tend toward verbosity(1). I only saw
the alt text in the response window where everything is raw. The other
replies with pictures don’t show the alt text (to me, anyway).

Nik - in the future, you could put the alt text in the image tag, *and*
repeat it below the image for captions if you like. That would make sure
that people get to read the text, instead of just chancing on it by doing a
mouseover.

I don’t get the alt text on a mouseover either. Is this another case of my
mileage varying? I’m not complaining; I like the ‘hidden message’ quality (I
can see some uses for that), but that is lost if it doesn’t work like that
for most people.

I’ve XFUT to admin.nntp so that the nntp/FTX wizards might notice this thread
and see if there is any anomaly worth investigating here or not.
