Fitting time in for building has been hard these days, but I get it in every
once in a while. Just thought Id say hi and show some of the stuff Ive
been up to lately. I apologize for the grainy pics which probably dont
represent the models fairly. But, better to share now than wait a few years
to fit in time to learn some photography ;)

First off, welcome back, Felix! You were missed by quite a few people. And I
really like the new directions that you have taken with your work.
|
Living Together
This one is dedicated to my wife, Kristy. We recently celebrated 10 years
together.
|
So whos who:)?
|
Contribution
This was an experiment in non-representational art. The idea was that each
sphere contributes a part of itself in a unique, but ordered fashion. I was
inspired by a book I read about Wassily Kandinsky.
|
I had just spotted this on Brickshelf and though, Only one person could do
this... And I was right. A very nice piece, and one that has that non-LEGO feel
about it. I also see a little art deco in the repeating rings, but I think
thats just me.
|
Check Yourself
A self-portrait of sorts. The model is supposed to represent a long hard
look at ones self. I think I missed the mark on this one-- looks more like
someone drinking from a water fountain. Perhaps Ill rename it Whats this
mirror doing at the drinking fountain?
|
Well, now that you said that I WILL think of a water fountain:) But I like the
figure a lot. Non stud again, and its just cool to look at.
|
Clock 1 and
Clock 2 These
always go over big when company comes over-- I dont know why. The Sea
Monkeys get a raised eyebrow while the clocks (which arent too imaginative)
get cheers. The non-AFOLs tastes are odd. I made two more smaller clocks
in a similar SNOT manner and gave them to friends as Christmas gifts but
never photographed them.
|
They like the clocks most likely because they can relate to the clocks, and they
look sharp, IMO
Neato keen! I need t get back into that! A nice shape and nice detail work!
|
And finally, The Sea
Monkey Short Range Scout My good friend, Joe Meno, took the Sea Monkeys
under his wing while I was swamped at work. (Any buddy wholl feed your fish
while youre away has to be a good friend). But, Joe appears to be swamped
himself of late. So, Im going to be taking the Sea Monkeys back and somehow
revitalize their Aquarium. Any and
all ideas/creations are welcome.
|
I think the problem here is that I took the SMs under my wing when I should have
used fins:) Thanks for coming back and taking over. I feel pretty good that the
site will be managed by the creator of the SMs.
Again, welcome back!
Joe Meno
