Cool! I like your landing struts, great use of the droid arms. I'll be honest, It's kinda hard to see the pics, blurry, but from what I can see it looks good. keep it up Mark (22 years ago, 6-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: New Moc: Russian Attack Helicopter, Ka-50 'Hokum' (Werewolf)

Hey thanks for the reply Mark! (...) thanks, unfortunately, the landing gear do not support the entire heli, when I was building them, it supported what I had so far easily, but the moment I added the back, it all went down hill from there, and it (...)   Re: New Moc: Russian Attack Helicopter, Ka-50 'Hokum' (Werewolf)

Great looking model. As a semi helicopter buff myself it is great to see some models. I especially like the pictures you have with the armament spread in front. (...) (22 years ago, 6-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: New Moc: Russian Attack Helicopter, Ka-50 'Hokum' (Werewolf)

(...) That's a very good likeness of the Hokum! As far as the real thing, I prefer the Hind in terms of looking more sinister and maybe instilling more fear in the enemy. I think an Apache or an A-10 will do the same thing though. "Red Dawn" had (...) (22 years ago, 6-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: New Moc: Russian Attack Helicopter, Ka-50 'Hokum' (Werewolf)

Congratulations! The chopper is very well portrayed, I like it very much. Of course one of the most interesting features is the unusual placement of rotors (at least in the West it is unusual...). I assume these particular ones are non-functional, (...) (22 years ago, 6-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: New Moc: Russian Attack Helicopter, Ka-50 'Hokum' (Werewolf)

Really nice job, Geordan! That is an awesome MOC. You did an excellent portrayal. I really like the missile tubes! Now if only I could find the time to finish my Huey.. ~Drew (22 years ago, 7-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: New Moc: Russian Attack Helicopter, Ka-50 'Hokum' (Werewolf)

Oh a counter rotating Helio! Awww man get out of town with that kick butt landing gear set up! wow! Dang and the cockpit setup is sweet to. I like the Tail area of the 'copter and the array of ordinance is impressive. Cool deal. Hey can I fly around (...) (22 years ago, 7-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Thanks Grady! (...) Yeah, I'd be interested in seeingsome more myself from others. :-) (...) Hey thanks, that is definitely the best way to show off all of the armnament. Thanks again Grady! -Geordan- (...) (22 years ago, 7-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: New Moc: Russian Attack Helicopter, Ka-50 'Hokum' (Werewolf)

snip (...) Thanks Bob! (...) Yeah definitely, the hokum has a "nice guy" feel to it, but the design itself is really cool IMO. (...) Ah cool, i'll have to check it out, but personally, that version of hind seems rather ugly to me, it could be just (...) (22 years ago, 7-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.military)

thanks Pedro! (...) Thanks, (...) Well they spin, and they can spin in different directions, but I didn't get them on seperate exles, so they can't spin the same way as the real thing, and they aren't motorized either. :-( (...) Hey thanks, but do (...) (22 years ago, 7-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: New Moc: Russian Attack Helicopter, Ka-50 'Hokum' (Werewolf)

Very nice! The double rotor must have been a little complicated to design. As others have noted, it is a little hard to see all the details, perhaps more because of the all black colour scheme than the actual photos. Don't get me wrong, the all (...)   Re: New Moc: Russian Attack Helicopter, Ka-50 'Hokum' (Werewolf)

(...) Thanks for the kind words Magnus! (...) Well once I got over the fact that it wasn't going to be possible, without making it bulky and ugly, for it to be double axled, then it was pretty straight forward. As others (...)   Re: New Moc: Russian Attack Helicopter, Ka-50 'Hokum' (Werewolf)

(...) Off the top of my head, the closest thing to what you're describing is a Ka-25 Hormone ASW chopper; like the Ka-50, however, its rotors are stacked contra- rotating models. The closest thing I know of is in civilian production, the Kaman K-Max (...) (22 years ago, 3-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.military)
