| The Abston Church of Christ pages were taken offline some time ago because they received more traffic than I can afford to serve. In the three days before I took them down they received 32,000 visitors, and each visitor used an average of somewhat (...) | (...) The initial reason your site got pounded was because of Slashdot. Your system suffered what's called "The Slashdot Effect". Think of it as unintentional DDoS attack. Most DSL/Cable connections can't serve that level of requests. Not to mention (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jun-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

| (...) I did a search for weblog on Google, and didn't find anything (quickly) which gave me any idea what it is. I didn't even need anything more than a Lugnet posting to convince myself I couldn't host pictures on my own web site (see this posting: (...) (22 years ago, 1-Jul-02, to lugnet.build.arch)
