Canadian Flag Flower Mosaic —Jason Allemann
I was fiddling around with flowers a while ago and came up with this... (URL) Let me know what you think! J (21 years ago, 10-Dec-03, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.mosaic, lugnet.general, FTX) !!

Re: Canadian Flag Flower Mosaic —Richard Noeckel
(...) WoW, that is so well done that i'm proud to say your creation makes me feel patriotic! The ground level-rise effect displays the flowers nicely. Reminds me of either the flower advertising on the lakeshore in Toronto, of down in Niagara Falls (...) (21 years ago, 10-Dec-03, to lugnet.build.mosaic, lugnet.loc.ca, FTX)

Re: Canadian Flag Flower Mosaic —Jason Allemann
(...) snip (...) Actually the flower advertising you mention is pretty much the inspiration for this. I remember seeing them as a child whenever I had to go through Toronto and thinking they were pretty cool (yes I had a sheltered childhood). They (...)         Re: Canadian Flag Flower Mosaic —Adrian Drake
(...) Hey cool! A mosaic style that somebody created before Eric Harshbarger did :) My fitness center actually has (well, had, before winter came along) a pair of flower beds by the front entrance. One made an American flag, the other a Canadian (...) (21 years ago, 10-Dec-03, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

Re: Canadian Flag Flower Mosaic —Jason Allemann
(...) snip (...) lol (...) I'd like to make a matching American flag but with the 13 stripes it would either have to have 13 rows, which would leave precious little room for the stars, or 26 rows (or more). Either way the size wouldn't match this (...) (21 years ago, 11-Dec-03, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

Re: Canadian Flag Flower Mosaic —Tim Strutt
(...) This is the coolest MOC I've seen using flowers. I got to see this in person, and it looks even better than pictures can show. Great work Jason. Tim Strutt (21 years ago, 10-Dec-03, to lugnet.build.mosaic, lugnet.loc.ca)

     (...) snip (...) Thanks Tim! (...) (21 years ago, 11-Dec-03, to lugnet.build.mosaic, lugnet.loc.ca)

Re: Canadian Flag Flower Mosaic —Bruce Hietbrink
Cool idea. This would be a great addition to any town or train layout as it looks like something that would really be planted outside a government building. Bruce (21 years ago, 10-Dec-03, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

Re: Canadian Flag Flower Mosaic —Eric Harshbarger
This is really nice. Do you find that flower stems don't click at securely to studs as do regular pieces? eric (...) (21 years ago, 10-Dec-03, to lugnet.build.mosaic)

Re: Canadian Flag Flower Mosaic —Jason Allemann
(...) Thanks! Yes, the stems definitely don't 'stick' as well as normal pieces, but the way I have them arranged here results in them holding quite a bit better than when they are on their own. (...) (21 years ago, 11-Dec-03, to lugnet.build.mosaic)

Re: Canadian Flag Flower Mosaic —Allan Bedford
(...) They always felt, to me, as though they were made of a slightly different mix of plastic.... just a tiny bit softer. Perhaps so the thin stems don't break off? I'm not sure. Anyway... nice work!! All the best, Allan B. (21 years ago, 11-Dec-03, to lugnet.build.mosaic)

Re: Canadian Flag Flower Mosaic —David Koudys
(...) It's very well done! Like the layered effect that others have pointed out. Though I would point out that this wasn't the first time the Canadian Flag was 'done up' in flowers... If you look at this pic very carefully... (URL) You will note the (...) (21 years ago, 11-Dec-03, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)
