I have finally posted my first moc (real moc not LDraw) and am using my
Brickshelf file for what is was intended, displaying the brick.

For those who know me my first moc post being a collection of trees will
really not surprise you, but Lego manufactured trees are just not big enough.

Well, its a collection of trees and a vine, the start of a book 101 things
to do with plant leaves.

This little collection is the product of too little to do on a Saturday
afternoon, a couple of hundred assorted plant leaves and a friends digital
camera (I'm glad now it wasn't 10,000 2x2 or otherwise I would still be
there trying to build the biggest tower I could ;)).

Some of my trees have been inspired by thing I have previously seen on
Brickshelf, after a reasonable look today I could not find them again so if
I owe you credit let me know so that you can bask in your glory.

Now if only lego released plant leaves in bulk packs....a whole forest....

Thanks to everyone who saw my tree at the Brickish Association's AGM
(http://www.brickish.org/) and gave me such positive feedback.

Thanks for looking

Fiona

Ooops forgot to take a picture of the finished fir tree, sorry.

(...) These are really nice! Good scale compared to mini-fig height. And you're absolutely correct, the LEGO trees are just too small. (...) Oh yea, and how about in different shades of green? <dreaming> Or even yellow and orange for Autumn colors? (...) (22 years ago, 11-May-03, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.town)

(...) Very tasty, and a very original approarch to tree building also. Your vine MOC could also be seen as a modern low-pruned apple orchard (as I originaly did browsing the picture, before reading the full text of your post) It looks exactly like (...) You go, girl. Having seen the big tree "in the flesh," I can honestly say that the photo doesn't do it justice. Excellent stuff, and an avenue that hasn't been explored very much. (...) (22 years ago, 11-May-03, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.town)

(...) Cool! Now that I've seen those, the minifig trees look MUCH smaller, but I've always noticed they were too small as well. (...) Thanks for sharing the pics :) (...) Hi. (...) Oh well! Matt C. (22 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.town)

Those are magnificant! If you don't mind, I'm definetly going to be using some of those tree designs for my work-in-progress Starcraft diorama. :) (22 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.town)

(...) I wish they did too. How did you get so many? I remember the club magazine had an 'ideas' page one Christmas that suggested making a holly wreath from leaf pieces, which I though was ridiculous as no-one could have enough. (...) (...) Very nice, Fiona. The pics you saw were probably from John Gerlach's page: (URL) is much too modest a guy to say so I see...;-) I have also built trees in this fashion though I haven't photographed them yet. Perhaps I will.... JOHN (22 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.town)

(...) Great trees! My wife also thinks the standard trees are too small, and is usally in charge of any green spaces done for our club displays at train shows. (2 URLs) NALUG-y stuff: (URL) ) (22 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.town)
