LEGO Company's New Product Assortment 'Kicks'; -- Featuring the New LEGO Soccer
Build-And-Play And Innovative High-Tech Offerings
ENFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 9, 2000--LEGO Systems, Inc., the
division of the LEGO(R) Company that serves the Americas, is introducing more
than 100 new products in 2000 for children of all ages.
The new product assortment will be displayed in the LEGO Showroom (1115
Broadway, 2nd floor, room 203) at this year's American International Toy Fair
from February 13-17. There will also be a LEGO technology display and
demonstrations at TechnoPlay@ToyFair located in the Javits Center.
"Heading" this year's lineup is the build-and-play LEGO Soccer line
comprised of six different sets. Players compete in a real soccer match, only
without the bumps and bruises. The new sets include elements to create a mini
soccer field with moveable parts and pieces for competitive play, including a
stadium, mini soccer players, goalkeepers, nets and other official soccer LEGO
pieces. Players build, shoot and score!
New product highlights include:
LEGO(R) BABY (Birth - 36 months) The LEGO BABY line features 13 new
products, including an apple that plays music, a handy storage turtle packed
full of LEGO BABY elements and Disney Baby toys featuring Mickey and Minnie.
LEGO Preschool (1 1/2 - 6 years)
The LEGO DUPLO(R)line expands in 2000 with 18 new toys for preschoolers.
Little Forest Friends sets come with a charming storybook, loveable characters
and a variety of LEGO DUPLO elements to help youngsters re-create the story.
Also new for preschoolers is the Action Wheelers line, with special pieces for
youngsters to quickly build and re-build vehicles for hours of fun.
LEGO(R) (5 - 16 years)
The LEGO line features more than 50 new toys. Kids can explore the frozen
tundra with the new Arctic sets. LEGO Dino, Knights Kingdom and Mickey for Kids
are making their debut in 2000. The LEGO Star Wars classic and Episode I lines
expand in 2000, and now include the Ultimate Collector Series with large-scale
collectible models.
LEGO TECHNIC(R) (7+ years)
LEGO TECHNIC sets include special pieces for the experienced LEGO builder.
New for 2000 are action-packed toys, including Roboriders and Speed Slammers.
LEGO Lifestyle Products
LEGO Lifestyle is the division of the LEGO Company that develops licensed
products under the LEGO(R) brand name. The 2000 licensed item assortment from
LEGO Lifestyle includes: an automotive interior product, kids apparel, watches,
games, puzzles, playmats, creative writing pens, luggage, and outdoor gear.

LEGO is expanding its high-tech offering in 2000 to children in the
preschool range. A revolutionary new preschool toy containing technology

LEGO MINDSTORMS continues to grow with five new products in 2000. Keep your

LEGO Media
LEGO Media will be introducing several new games for the PC and the
Nintendo(R) 64 and PlayStation(R) game consoles.
