Dear all,
I’d like to invite you to a survey about Location Based Services based upon an
idea connected to LUGNET. I am writing a paper for the university of Frankfurt
about the use of Privacy Enhanching Technologies (PET) and their use in Location
Based Services (LBS).
The survey won’t take longer than 5 minutes and I’d be very pleased if you’d
participate and share your opinion:

I had the idea for this LBS when I stumbled upon LUGNET as an example for an
Online Community in another scientific paper.

Location-based services (LBS) are offered by some cell phone networks as a way
to send custom advertising and other information to cell-phone subscribers based
on their current location. The cell-phone service provider gets the location
from a GPS chip built into the phone, or using radiolocation and trilateration
based on the signal-strength of the closest cell-phone towers (for phones
