Hi All,
After seven fun-filled years of working, sharing, and building together, PNLTC
has decided to become two separate clubs. When we first started the club in
1997, it was necessary for all hands in the Pacific Northwest to participate in
order to put on a good train show. By 2001, the Seattle and Portland areas both
had enough members to do shows independently, although we often sent
"ambassadors" to each others' shows. We also had some great "all hands" layouts,
like the one displayed at LEGOLAND in 2001.
Since then our club has continued to grow in both locations but because we don't
have an internal governmental structure it has become increasingly harder to
manage such a geographically diverse group. In order to best serve both
locations and continue with the level of friendships and familiarity with one
another, we believe this split will strengthen both new LEGO train clubs.
So, as of September 1, 2004, PNLTC will officially be dissolved and the
membership will be split into two separate clubs. Both clubs will adopt new
names and logos, reapplying to ILTCO for active club membership, supporting each
other on larger scale events (i.e. NWBrickCon), and most importantly putting on
train shows in our respective areas! All this will take time and both groups are
actively working towards these goals now. As for the PNLTC web site, it will
remain in tact with a short farewell address and links to our new websites.
We hope that you will all share with us in our celebration of the birth of two
new LEGO train clubs. We certainly plan to be very active and continue to
participate with one another, as good neighboring clubs should.
On behalf of all the members of PNLTC, farewell and Happy Birthday!!!

| (...) Seems a shame to retire such an illustrious name. Hmmm... How about: PNNLTC (PN North LTC) PNSLTC (PN South LTC) or PNWALTC (PN Washington LTC) PNORLTC (PN Oregon LTC) or PNSEALTC (PN Seattle LTC) PNPORLTC (PN Portland LTC) or PNLTCN (PNLTC (...)
