Hey y'all,
We're really working to get a FAQ put together! :-,
The FAQ will be patterned after the LUGNET site structure, and has room for
Q+A on anything and everything you'd expect to see on LUGNET.
If you have any questions for the FAQ -- or better yet, questions with
answers -- please post them to lugnet.faq (preferred) or e-mail them to me
at jsproat@geocities.com (not so preferred :-).
I have culled the following unanswered questions from the newsgroup
lugnet.faq :
Q) How do I remove the bar thingy from a Lego bucket?
Q) Who is Timmy? -or- Who's Who in Lego Land?
Q) What books are available for or about Lego?
Q) SW Lego? What's that stand for? -or- What are some of the most common
acronyms for the online LEGO community?
Q) I need a reliable news server for RTL and other misc news groups.
Q) Dacta, what is it?
Q) Who is eligible for Dacta purchases (in the US no one, I need help
internationally)
Q) Does Dacta Sell Direct? (Not in the US any more)
Q) How do the Dacta Lines divide? (Early childhood, technical/mechanical)
Q) Who are the US distributors of the early childhood lines? (Kaplan, US
Toys, etc. and pointer to lego.dacta URL and other useful URLs and phone
numbers)
Q) Who are the distributors of the rest (Pitsco, info on special
arrangment, pointer to # and URL)
Q) What can people do elsewhere?
Q) What is the function of the Glen Tannenbaum unit? ;-)
If you have answers to the above questions, or if you have time to
investigate the answers, that would be really swell. :-,

Q) I'm having trouble getting my monorail to work right. It's a 6991, the
lights come on but the motor won't go. I checked my work against the
instructions carefully, even got a new mono motor from CA but no go.

Q) Now I'm seeing the term "Microfig scale", and wondering what in the
world?
Q) What are some easy-to-remember LDraw part numbers?
Q) Who is working on LDraw 2?
Q) What does the "ob" (as in "oblego") mean?
