There will be three robot competitions held at BricksWest 2003:
R/C Off-Road Racing: http://news.lugnet.com/events/brickswest/?n=425
RCX Drag Racing: http://news.lugnet.com/events/brickswest/?n=426
And finally there will be the third installment of BRICKHEAP WARS.

BrickHeap Wars is a LEGO Mindstorms competition loosely based on Junk Yard
Wars. All materials (*1) will be provided at the competition. While
computers will be provided, participants MAY bring their own laptop
computers and IR towers to program their robots if they wish. This allows
other programming languages or more familiar environments to be used.
However, no outside LEGO (or non-LEGO) parts will be permitted. If you are
interested in participating, all you need to do is show up! There will be a
3 hour building session on Friday night, and then Monday afternoon the
robots will be pitted against each other to determine who has built the best
robot.

As in Junk Yard Wars, the specific challenge will be announced at the
beginning of the competition.  Unlike Junk Yard Wars, each team will start
with an identical 'heap' of LEGO parts.

There will be room for up to four teams to participate in this competition,
each team may have between three and six participants. Teams should attempt
to form ahead of time. If you wish to participate, but don’t have enough
participants for your team, show up anyway, and see if you can form a team
or join one at the beginning of the event.

NOTES: 1) This includes an RCX, a computer and software for programming it,
the IR tower, a selection of sensors and motors, as well as *MANY* LEGO
Technic pieces.
