MOC: Enterprise, NX-01 —Sid Mark Dinsay
Salutations! I have a new MOC, in the Star Trek vein. It's the title starship from the latest incarnation of "Star Trek"--the Enterprise, NX-01. Compare and contrast my Lego MOC with the original, and please let me know what you think. Your opinions (...) (23 years ago, 24-Aug-01, to lugnet.announce) !!

Re: MOC: Enterprise, NX-01 —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) I like it! It's remarkably close with respect to the geometries, which is the hardest part. Nice incorporation of parts for the bridge, too. The Akiraprise isn't exactly a gorgeous ship, but that model's pretty darn good-lookin'. (Sorry, not (...) (23 years ago, 24-Aug-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.space, lugnet.loc.us.ny.ny)

Re: MOC: Enterprise, NX-01 —Sid Mark Dinsay
(...) Thanks Lindsay! It's always hard to make a round primary hull--but a secondary hull is even tougher. Not to mention the warp nacelles. That's why I haven't built an NCC-1701. The NX-01 wasn't easier, but it *was* less difficult. BTW, are you a (...) (23 years ago, 24-Aug-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.space, lugnet.loc.us.ny.ny)

Re: MOC: Akira-prise, NX-01 —Rick Hallman
(...) Very nice rendition of the Akira-prise. I have been wanting to do some ships from Star Trek in that scale. Do you know hard it is to make a Defiant? :D Rick (23 years ago, 24-Aug-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.space, lugnet.loc.us.ny.ny)

Re: MOC: Akira-prise, NX-01 —Dave Schuler
(...) Since everyone has been in lock-step condemnation of the "new" Enterprise, and since I'm not Anime-savvy, can someone point me to a good picture of the "original" ship? Dave! (23 years ago, 24-Aug-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

(...) New enterprise is in the thread... Akira is here... First ship in list... (URL) (23 years ago, 24-Aug-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

(...) class of the new ship, and I figured a comparison was being made to an existing vessel from some anime title. Thanks for the clear-up. Dave! (23 years ago, 24-Aug-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

Re: MOC: Enterprise, NX-01 —Kyle D. Jackson
(...) That's a great model. I've never seen so many tiles in one place before! ;] You gotta add some lights to it next! (BTW, just a little posting tip: when making a post with follow-ups set, be sure to include all of the FUT groups in the post-to (...)          Re: MOC: Enterprise, NX-01 —Sid Mark Dinsay
Kyle, Thanks! Yes, that is a lot of plates. It took a good salvaging operation to get all of the light greys, but I did it! As for lights--I've got a lot of them, but that'll be a tough job! :D As for FUT groups: What are they? Sorry to be so (...)          Re: MOC: Enterprise, NX-01 —Kyle D. Jackson
(...) Sorry about going acronym on ya there, not very helpful I know. FUT = "Follow-Up To". When you made your original post, you set it up like this: Newsgroups: lugnet.announce Follow-up: lugnet.build,lugnet....c.us.ny.ny The problem with this is (...)         Re: MOC: Enterprise, NX-01 —Mark Chan
(...) Absolutely incredible! Great model, I especially like the bridge, the way you did the saucer curve, and the creative use of the blue Lego train rails. When I first saw this on brickshelf, I loved the model, but thought it was an Akira class (...) (23 years ago, 25-Aug-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.space, lugnet.loc.us.ny.ny)

Re: MOC: Enterprise, NX-01 —A. Mark Wilburn
Once again, Sid Mark, great Trek moc! (Yeah, I think it looks like an Akira-Prise too.... in fact, since your nacelles appear to be on click hinges, all you'd have to do is angle them downward instead of up, and you could claim an Akira class moc as (...)         Re: MOC: Enterprise, NX-01 —Sid Mark Dinsay
Mark, Thanks! I tried a Galactica once, perhaps it's time to revisit. There are other Star Trek ships on my website, (URL) As for The Weakest Link--I'm sorry you had to see that pitiful performance! Wish I'd gotten a Lego question!!! :) onedaycnn (...)
