   That URL was giving me some problems, but this one worked: (URL) the movie, I clicked on the link and opened it and got an error message from windows media player "Unable to downoad an appropriate decompressor" (...) (24 years ago, 8-Apr-01, to lugnet.animation, lugnet.space)

     Yep, you need Windows Media Player 7 to view it. If you are still using 95 or the first firet of 98, you might not have it (or if you have a ... blarrrgh... Mac).      Try Quicktime. My digital still camera records silent movies in a weird compressed format only Quicktime will open.
