  Adventurer 2000 scans

If you need the scans of the dino-island sets, I got 'em. Email me for them at: markwars@prodigy.net Cheers, Mark L (26 years ago, 6-Dec-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: Oh my Gawd!! These sets are awesome!!

(...) If you look in lugnet.general you will see an almighty stink has broken out about whether these scans should have been posted. As a consequence, they have been removed from HUW's site. Sorry, but I dont seem to have them in my cache anymore, (...) (26 years ago, 6-Dec-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: Oh my Gawd!! These sets are awesome!!

(...) apparently (...) dinos, (...) I love the rusty corrugated metal roof pieces, and the planes look great, but why are Harry and the professor sitting in the engines on the blue one? Eh, adding a cockpit will be no biggie. Kevin (26 years ago, 5-Dec-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: Oh my Gawd!! These sets are awesome!!

(...) These sets really remind me of Jurassic Park 1 & 2(the movies). And perhaps they used slightly modified dragon molds to make some of the dinosaurs. :) But I'm not complaining, these sets do look cool indeed! Bryan (26 years ago, 5-Dec-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: Oh my Gawd!! These sets are awesome!!

(...) Agree they look great, though I think the dino's look a little small compared to minifig scale regards lawrence (26 years ago, 5-Dec-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: Oh my Gawd!! These sets are awesome!!

(...) i must agree, mark! while the y2k castle sets get less exciting to me the more i look at them, these dino island sets are the cream of the crap! i really love the quarter circle type green baseplates, but it is odd that there are no palm trees (...) Everyone that even has a casual interest in Adventurers should go here now: (URL) sets are awesome! Check out the variety of vehicles and parts. I must pour over them some more, so I'll post more later. Cheers, Mark L (26 years ago, 5-Dec-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Dino Island set pictures!

Huw's great web site now has pictures of all the 200 sets, including the Dino Island sets. What can I say? They are much better than the Amazon sets. There is even a frighter ship! The pontoon plane is great, and even the base look wonderful! I (...) (26 years ago, 5-Dec-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: Any ideas on how to do this with Technic?

(...) I don't know what the big 'L' calls it, but I think it's a Slipper Clutch. They're used all over the place in r/c race cars, to protect the drivetrain, both the motor and the gears/belts, from the abuse of a heavy throttle finger and/or rough (...)   Re: Any ideas on how to do this with Technic?

(...) I don't think clutch is the correct term. The white 24t gear cog is normally used to protect the motor from stress. If you use the white gear in a gear train, it will slip if the load becomes too high, which is better than having the motor (...) (26 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.adventurers)

Re: Any ideas on how to do this with Technic?

(...) Actually...I think that is supposed to be a clutch. It also comes in the new 9V motor set 8735. Pat (26 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.adventurers)

Re: Any ideas on how to do this with Technic?

(...) That's where the friction in the pulley comes into play. Your system will need to accelerate initially to attain some sort of velocity. The friction will eventually (and pretty quickly if you fine-tune it right) counter act the acceleration, (...) (26 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.adventurers)

Re: Any ideas on how to do this with Technic?

(...) want. (...) No daftness at all - a good guess. I didn't know it wasn't in version 1.0. It's in the 1.5 version. I haven't found a use for it yet, although it is on p. 59 of the 1.5 Constructopedia and on their parts page inside the back cover. (...)   Re: Any ideas on how to do this with Technic?

That's a good solution as well. It might be harder to make the descent *really* slow, though, as is possible with a clock-style pendulum. -- Paul Davidson, aka Tinman www.theforce.net | Your Daily Dose of Star Wars www.filmforce.net | Your Daily (...)
