Suggestion: Use the real life name when composing the 'From' field, for
e-mail and NNTP news-readers.

When a post is read from the web, the poster's real life name is always shown:

  http://news.lugnet.com/general/?n=36525

However, when reading from a news reader like Outlook Express, the message
shows the 'From' name:

  From:          Brick Builder
  Organization:  None
  Date:          Wednesday, April 17, 2002 7:51 AM
  Newsgroups:    lugnet.general,lugnet.technic
  Subject:       Re: ...

The properties of this message show the sender's true name:

  Xref: lugnet.com lugnet.general:36525 lugnet.technic:7335
  Newsgroups: lugnet.general,lugnet.technic
  Path: lugnet.com!lugnet
  From: "Brick Builder" <brickbuilder@hotmail.com>
  X-Real-Life-Name: Bert Giesen
  ...

But there isn't an option to choose the X-Real-Life-Name field to be
displayed in the message (at least in Outlook Express).

I recommend editing the mail header so that instead of this:
  From: "Brick Builder" <brickbuilder@hotmail.com>
It looks like this:
  From: "Bert Giesen" <brickbuilder@hotmail.com>

Thanks
Cary

(...) <snip> (...) I concur. Although in Pine it's relatively easy to change the headers I view by default, it never even occurred to me to try until just now. . .and I think I'm very rare (around Purdue, anyway) in knowing anything about (...)
