I just wanted to drive home my point one more time before I leave this topic.
I see a definite distinction between LUGNET the LEGO resource and LUGNET the
AFOL community. Thats not to say that the two dont overlap, but they dont
overlap completely. I think there is great value in keeping LUGNET the LEGO
resource all about LEGO, such as a Brickshelf or a Peeron (and I would include
all of the on-topic groups as a LEGO resource). And I also think that there is
great value in fostering an AFOL community that has nothing to do with LEGO
except for the fact that it is what brought the community together in the first
place. I believe that the best way to cultivate and promote both is to allow
them to coexist separately so that they dont interfere with each other.
LUGNET is growing. I think that now is the time to take measures to insure that
it remains a valuable resource for everyone well into the future.
There. Im done:-)
