Woah that's one heck of a CC: list up there!  Funny, one of which I
subscribe too (announce).. and I don't believe that one accepts replies?

So, speak your opinions on these:

* Add new group lugnet.rant or lugnet.lego.rant?  Why or why not?

Does debate not fit this area already? I'm unsure as I've never visited
it. I think it would fit just fine in there.

* Add new group lugnet.rave or lugnet.lego.rave?  Why or why not?

Would .general not fit for this? Even Dear Lego wouldn't be bad, why not
let them know we are happy with something they did? With how bad they've
been bashed, I would think they'd like to hear some good things now and
then.

* Add new group lugnet.debate?  Why or why not?

I think .debate fits everything, This is one group I would agree to
being made, though I wouldn't divide it any further, off-topic and
debate is all that's needed.

* Delete lugnet.market.auction and lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade and replace
  these with lugnet.market.forsale, lugnet.market.wanted, and lugnet.market
  .swap?  Why or why not?

That just gives us 3 more places, I think b-s-t and auction are fine,
why divide the masses even more?

* How much and what type of flogging would you like to see in .loc groups?
None?  Some?  Anything goes?  Only certain types?  Why or why not?

I thought this was left up to the group to decide? of course, this is an
easy out for someone who refuses to find out if the group accepts these.
So I believe it should be an across the board yes or no.

I agree that you can post a message stating I put stuff up go to xxxxx
message and take a look. Though I don't agree to posting the full
message in both places.

* Axe regional subgroups of lugnet.loc.xx and field requests for new
subgroups on a country-by-country basis -- let them grow organically?
  Why or why not?

I believe you should leave the states/provinces and drop all the cities
from all the local groups, again, too much division is my reason.

* Move lugnet.trains.org to lugnet.org.train/ltc/etc., and move
  lugnet.castle.org to lugnet.org.castle, and move lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw
to lugnet.org.cad.ldraw (or something)?  Why or why not?

All Orgs should be in their own hierarchy, I like the idea of clubs
better than orgs though.

I *especially* would like to hear your opinions if you haven't weighed in on
any of these issues before.

Thanks,
--Todd

I know LUGNET is yours Todd, You can do with it as you please, Though, I
find all the different groups somewhat annoying.  You never know if
where your posting your message is the proper group.  I feel splitting
up the conversation over so many different groups isn't a good idea.

Not that I'd go back, this interface is so much better to me, though, I
miss the days of RTL. Everyone talked in the same "room", you read what
you were interested in, skipped the rest of it.

Yes, I could do this with the web interface, though I dislike it, I have
to ask for help every time I'm faced with using it to find something.
Plus, my time is very limited with being a student right now, so I only
get what I'm most interested in sent to my mail box. I know I'm missing
out on a lot of good information this way, though time is my biggest
factor right now.

I'm wondering, what's the matter with .general? How are people who
aren't interested (yet) in other themes, to hear what people have to
say? Maybe they'd find they liked that theme if they heard what some
people are saying?

I also see people as being very intolerant when something is posted that
they aren't interested in, telling the person to go somewhere else or
setting followups to another group. What if the person who posted the
message doesn't subscribe to that group? I believe this is what is
causing all the groups to be created in many ways.  I think we need more
integration and less segregation.
