For the web-interface, the idea <http://www.lugnet.com/admin/general/?n=3290>
has been reguritated several times. It is too easy to cross-post with the web
interface as the extra groups don't stand out and are commonly hidden by the
width of the 'Newsgroups:' box.
If around 50% of users use the web-interface then that could have a big impact
alone.

That sounds like it's going into trusted moderators territory?
I'd prefer changes to the web-interface to make it entirely obvious and easy to
change when you are cross-posting, and yet more changes to make it so great as
to tempt the remaining nntp and news-by-mail users to it :)

| (...) One thing which might work well for web posting is to bring up an "are you sure" panel when a post will be crossposted to 2 or more groups (the count could exclude certain groups). (25 years ago, 23-May-00, to lugnet.admin.general)
