Apache is back up. Hopefully some post-mortem analysis will give more clues
into the reasons for its falling down. One thing I know is that 'ps'
definitely has a bug which causes it to spin forever once in a blue moon,
and if Apache was waiting (without a timeout) for it to finish, then that
would make sense at midnight during log splitting. The OS may need to be
updated to fix 'ps'.
