Todd,
You may have already thought of this, but how about an interactive link
database.
Purposes:
1. Allows long URLs to be included in LugNet messages without worrying about
text wrap.
2. Searchable history of URLs mentioned in LugNet
How it works:
On www.lugnet.com add a form with just a few fields: URL, Desc. Clicking
Post URL button will post that info into the Lugnet URL database, and return
a very short URL such as: www.lugnet.com?link=1782
Users then copy and paste that URL into his/her message.
When a reader clicks that URL, lugnet will look it up in the db and redirect
user to the actual URL.
Even cooler would be if lugnet can do this automatically by searching the
postings for long URLs!
