My take on this, as one of the proponents of a relatively clean forum is
that common sense should prevail. If you, as the utterer of a phrase,
are perhaps not sure if it's appropriate, it probably isn't. And if I
send you a note saying that I thought you went over the line, it isn't
because I don't like you, or even that I don't totally support your
right to speak as you wish when you're on your dime, I'm just trying to
keep the community the way that I think it should be.

Going down a rathole of what exactly is in or out will be a big waste.

Just to reiterate. My kids read these groups although they're not
allowed to post yet. I hold up (to them, when speaking about how to
behave) Legomaniacs (among others, many others) as generally great
people worthy of emulation. My kids know all the words already. I am not
shielding them!!! I just prefer that the community I hold up as an ideal
to them be a model of good behaviour rather than of bad.

So all I'm asking is that you adhere to the standards you agreed to, and
use your heads. You don't NEED to be profane to be vehement. Consider it
a challenge to your eloquence to get your point across without it. If
you slip up once in a while, hey, everyone is human... but do try, ok?

(...) Is there really that much about this that is hard to understand? I'm far from innocent when it comes to profane language, but even I don't think it is too much to ask the people keep it under control here. I look at it this way - I try to (...)
