I don't think you should have to.
But my opinion doesn't matter, you have to decide for yourself what to
do. Having said that, policy here, as i interpret it, is that you should
try to cancel the post yourself and only if you fail to do so, you
should explicitly ASK that it be cancelled on your behalf.
A nuance, I know, and I speak only as a member, but it's an important
distinction. The decision to remove the post is yours and except in
extreme cases, Todd does not exert editorial control. Saying he can
cancel it if he wants makes him make the decision.
For very interesting and valid legal reasons having to do with liability
and libel, it is better if a US based site does not exert editorial
control.
Sorry for taking you down that rathole... you get to decide what to do
next.
