This may be idealistic, but while it is great fun discussing what sort of sets
we'd like to see (eg http://www.lugnet.com/starwars/?n=4273), does it mean that
any TLG person reading that is no longer able to make that set even if they
wanted to because they won't have their paper trail?
There should be a way of sharing cool ideas that you wish Lego would follow up
on, whilst not simultaneously preventing that idea from happening!
Now it is idealistic because it's assuming that TLG would listen to us enough
in the first place to think about producing some of our ideas!
I'm not that much of a lawyer, but would the following scenario allow us to
discuss ideas *for* TLG, whilst not stopping them from implementing them?
"A newsgroup (lugnet.ideas.tlg or something), whose charter plainly stated that
when sending to that group the individual relinquished any intellectual
copyright upon ideas expressed within it to the public domain or to TLG itself
(if that is possible)."
Therefore, by cross-posting to that group TLG would be legally free to use
those ideas. (Idealistically :)
