I had a similar problem "back in the day" when I was a BBS newbie. I had an
Apple ][+ with a 300 baud modem -- my term program (and computer for that
matter) only displayed caps. I'd go on BBS's (mostly WWIV PC based) and had
no idea that other people were typing in lowercase at all.

Some people have very good reasons for typing either in all caps or all lower case... people who, for reasons of (...) (25 years ago, 3-Oct-99, to lugnet.admin.general)
