Todd,
Would it be possible to insert the URL for the DAT file into the message
body? That way, someone with an NNTP client that recognized URLS and makes
links out of them would be able to view DAT files on LUGNET without needing
to launch the Web browser.

| (...) Possible, yes; straightforward, no. When an article is submitted to the newsserver, it's not known what ordinal number will be assigned to it until the instant that it actually appears. That is, only the newsserver can assign the article (...) (25 years ago, 26-Aug-99, to lugnet.admin.general)
