Agreed. Call the question. (1)
1 - from Robert's rules of order, which we are NOT using here, but which
people refer to sometimes in group situations even when they don't
apply. "call the question" is short for "I make a motion to vote on the
main motion". This motion takes precedence over just about everything
except a motion to adjourn, is not subject to debate or amendment, and
must be voted on immediately. if it succeeds, debate on the main motion
is terminated, the amendments are voted on in order, and the main
motion, with currently approved amendments, is put to a vote.
None of that applies here. But the sense is the same... we've talked
long enough, let's decide on the action, if any, to be taken.
