I just noticed this spam at the bottom of someone's post:

This type of spam is generally nauseating and is even more problematic than
sig files are for article content indexers.
Where does it come from? It sneaks in through the News-by-Mail gateways
whenever someone sends email from services that add spam to outgoing mail.
No offense is intended toward those who are contributing articles containing
spam like this; it's not their fault; it's being added automatically by
certain email service providers.
Fortunately, there is a simple technical solution: Spam like this is not
part of an original article's content as created by the article's author, so
out it goes!
I just added the spam footer above to the list of other spam footers that
the newsserver filters out when incoming e-mail is received through the mail
gateways. A few other examples (maybe some of these are familiar) include:

Anyway, if you happen to notice any *new* spam footers slipping through the
cracks and making it into the news system, drop me a note and I'll add it to
