Hi all,
I am currently trying to optimize the appearance of advertisements on LUGNET.
This is both in order to achieve a clean appearance of the web pages (so that
the ads don't get on anyone's nerves too much) and of course to ensure we keep
LUGNET financially afloat.
While the latter should not be much of an issue to you, I have been made aware,
that from time to time some - let's say "unwanted" ads appear on the LUGNET
pages. I am thus constantly reviewing our filter settings with Google in order
to avoid such potentially not family-friendly ads (Google doesn't offer
"offensive" ads anyway, but some ads are certainly somewhere close to a
borderline that we don't want to see crossed on a site such as LUGNET).
So please, just in case you notice ads that you think do not belong here, please
note down the URL shown at the bottom of the ad (it is not necessary and you are
not encouraged to click on the ad in order to find the URL - it's virtually
always shown in the ad itself) and drop me a line. I will verify and put the URL
on our filter list.
As a side note, I have noticed that if a post makes - let's say somewhat less
careful use of slang or potential swear words, this may actually trigger
unwanted ads, too. Take that as a hint if you feel like it ;)
