Perhaps lugnet needs an .off-topic.rant for these situations
(quasi-serious
suggestion). Debate is meant to be debates but it might be nice to have
somewhere to just yell in.

I feel that it may not be enough for some people.  Perhaps there should be a
few extra newsgroups like the following:

.off-topic.copyright.abuse and .copyright.abuse.laws

For those people that seem to insist on flaming someone and bringing an
unwanted topic to a newsgroup it absolutely does not belong in:

.off-topic.clueless.flame (Eric should be allowed to post here - although
getting booted out of the rest of LUGNET should be mandatory for the
duration of a ban of a user sent here.)

As well as a "cool-down" discussion group for the above one - hey I'm sure
even the flamers would like to cool off somewhere:

.off-topic.clueless.flame.cooler

And for the roleplayers gone awry a "jabba-the-hut" style of pleading
newsgroup, just for them:

.off-topic.jabba-the-hutt.pleas-for-mercy

Well, okay, the last is a shameless rip-off of a line out of Star Wars
Episode VI.  ;-)

I hope these newsgroups are not frequented by many in the forseeable future.
But I do not wish to see further pollution of newsgroups by excessively
off-topic stuff.

Cheers ...

Geoffrey Hyde
