Is that a complaint or a concern? (You can answer "splunge" :)
I don't think frequency should be a factor as long as what's being announced
is truly of general-interest and is really something new (as opposed to a
repeat/repost announcement of something already announced within the past
few weeks). However, it's probably not good etiquette to post N separate
announcements when 1 would do. Yet, if two new areas on the same site are
deployed on the same day at the same time but have greatly different content,
then there are advantages to the community in posting two separate
announcements -- namely in thread cohesiveness and followup-direction.
It's one of those gray areas to me. I personally don't see a problem (yet)
but if bona fide complaints start surfacing on the frequency level of
Richard's announcements, then perhaps he could work closely with a volunteer
to help schedule the announcements more appropriately.

| (...) Concern. I think the frequency is high but Richard is SO enthusiastic, I would not want to say anything that might derail that enthusiasm. He's a great ambassador for the brick. (25 years ago, 24-Feb-99, to lugnet.admin.general)
