My email address started out as Lugnet only, and was later extended to
dealing with a few fellow lugnetters. Right from the beginning I've
received spam emails, most coming from the same few addresses (a couple of
tpg.com.au addresses, an aol address, and a heap of Italian html right after
my first foray into loc.it which continued on and off for some time). It
has slowed down a lot, but I still get an isolated new one every now and
then, including the one mentioned in this thread.
Having been spammed since the beginning I've never thought of Lugnet as any
sort of spam-free safe haven. It would be nice if it could be that way but
I don't think that's realistic. Any email from a name/address I don't
recognise gets deleted straight away - end of story (Tasmail can filter but
I've never bothered with it).
BTW, at least some of the lugnet newsgroups have been crawled by google now,
I can turn up my own name and hence email address from a recent-ish
lugnet.belville post.
