Perhaps tailspin was too strong a word. I do perceive a trend, but I
also see your energy picking up which is extremely good news.

There is probably not much need to mull over the past. I think we all
agree that there has been an effect from Todd's dip in enthusiasm, but
to move forward we need to mostly look forward.

I'm glad that it is recognized that administration of Lugnet requires
more than one person. I also absolutely agree that the administrators
need to speak with one voice as a general rule (there are times when it
is good for admins to take different views, but those are generally when
some issue is being decided in a public forum, if the decision isn't a
public debate, the admins should speak with one voice publicly [even if
they vehemently disagree]).
Of course this is one reason I keep harping on the TOS and market posts,
Lugnet must have one voice on such matters.
On another hand though, I think it would be healthy for Lugnet to have a
little more feeling of whole community involvement (and you speak of
that below on the subject of morale). Part of what needs to happen is
that a clear line be made between what is to be handled administratively
and what is to be handled "by the community." For example, it may be
that "policing" should be an administrative matter (but perhaps
delegated to a bunch of deputies), on the other hand, responding to
someone's expressing concern about the community needs to occur to some
extent at least in the public (but perhaps we need another group for
such discussion, I'm fairly sure it doesn't really belong in .general,
.people isn't really the right place either, and .admin.general isn't
the right place either).
