(Once this became a feature on LUGNET, people could add zeros to non-4 digit
set numbers so that this feature would work with them too.)

Actually, adding leading zeros would be worse.  There are many cases of sets
with the same integer number but with different leading-zero number-names.
For example, there are at least two different sets numbered "20" and at least
one set numbered "020".  Another example:  There is a set "001" and several
sets numbered "1".

A minor point, I admin, but since LEGO has used leading zeros before, the
set numbers aren't actually integers but strings.  (There's even a set with
an "A" on the end, and other oddities.)

I didn't know that.  But the pause database already comes up with a list of
sets when there's more than one.  Might not an improvement to the database be
to add sets with letters or leading zeros to the list?  You can pick out which
one you desire from the list then.

There are also other items that start with letters, the keychains, watches,
and pens, for instance.  I don't know if these are in the database or not.

Okay, I admit it's more complicated than I thought, but even if we ignored all
these things, (like letters, 3 digit set numbers, etc.) I still think that
just creating a link for any four digit numbers would be a huge win 99+% of
the time.
