| What I find curious about the slopes is that we had plenty of red slopes (they may have all been 2x2, I don't remember), but we never had any apex or other special slopes (I remember later in life noting that "gee, they finaly got around to adding (...) | Frank: I think you will find that the optics on the front of the light sensor brick are too wide angle to do much in the way of beacon detection. You would probably need to put at least a field lens in front of the brick, and perhaps some tubular (...) (25 years ago, 15-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)

| (...) Er, 330 ohm may be ok for the usual transistor type circuit where the nominal supply voltage is 5 volt, if my memory has not failed me. It may be a bit low, I think, for the RCX where the nominal voltage is 9 volts which is almost double of 5 (...) (25 years ago, 12-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

| (...) Thanks for the enlightenment. I remembered it went something like that. But don't you have to allow for the forward voltage drop across the LED, typically 1.6 volt (still from memory)?
