Before anyone replies to my previous message, found the problem. I have a light over my desk and this was interfering with the IR transmission. Turned the light off and moved the RCX a little closer to the tower and hey presto, all OK. Does legOS (...) (26 years ago, 27-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Hi I installed the win version of legOS and downloaded the firmware legOS.srec to both my RCX's. The older RCX from a 1.0 set seems to accept .lx files OK the first time after the firmware is downloaded. The new version will not accept any .lx (...) (26 years ago, 27-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

(...) That's a good idea to use the 1x1 technic beam with a 1.21 techinic pin with stud end. I wonder if connecting with only one stud at either end would give the wall of windows to much freedom to rotate? Probably no problem since the wall of (...) (26 years ago, 27-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

James, I responded to your post earlier today but it didn't show-up so here's another try. I've been making Z-scale models under a microscope for years so Lego scale is a cakewalk in comparison.
